Dinusha Heshani Mahara Piyarathna Mudalige
I am a PhD student at Queensland University of Technology, Australia, with a research focus on persistent environmental pollutants—particularly microplastics, PFAS, and heavy metals. My work centres around advanced analytical chemistry techniques and chemometric approaches to better understand and address environmental contamination.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, and a Master of Science in Chemistry from Oregon State University, USA. Alongside my research, I am deeply passionate about science education. I currently serve as a sessional academic and actively contribute to the Wonder of Science program as a Young Science Ambassador. Through this role, I engage with communities across Queensland, participating in school visits, Flying Scientist events, and the World Science Festival to inspire and promote STEM education.
