Martina Burgo

Originally from Italy, I moved to the UK to study Biodiversity and Conservation at University College London. My Master's thesis looked at seagrass thermal tolerance and the relative importance of local adaptation to heat stress. Missing the sun, I then moved to Australia to begin my PhD at James Cook University and the Australian Institute of Marine Science. My research focuses on coral-macroalgal competition and recolonization of disturbed reefs.
