Robert W Day
I am a marine ecologist with 40 years experience. My research covers two broad fields: fisheries research and aquaculture research. In both, much of my work has focused on abalone. My aquaculture research has supported the rapidly developing abalone mariculture industry in Australia. My fisheries research includes work on both abalone ecology and shark fisheries biology, measurement and modelling of fish growth and fisheries dynamics, and studying fishers’ knowledge and collaboration between fishers, managers and researchers to enhance sustainable management. I am currently supervising a Masters student on a shark fisheries biology project.
