Elodie Camprasse
Dr Elodie Camprasse is a marine ecologist with a passion for scuba diving, underwater photography and science communication. She works at Fathom Pacific as a senior consultant.
Elodie has a wide range of interests including marine ecology, human-wildlife interactions, citizen science, and nature connection. After working as a field assistant in a French subantarctic territory, studying seabirds and marine mammals, she came to Australia to undertake a PhD in seabird ecology at Deakin University.
Elodie is passionate about increasing the public’s awareness of the amazing biodiversity of the Great Southern Reef (the Southern coastline of Australia) and filling gaps in knowledge that surrounds many of its inhabitants. At Fathom Pacific, she is involved in marine mammal research and undertakes studies for the renewable energy sectors.
Elodie is also part of the Homeward Bound Team HB9 cohort. She loves public speaking and regularly interacts with the media (radio, TV, print and online publications). Through her outreach efforts and photography, she aims to inspire the next generation of women in STEMM, and particularly of marine scientists.
